How to Change Oil on 2016 - 2022 Chevrolet Captiva
Required Materials:
- OEM Oil filter
- 4.5 – 7.5 quarts of 5W-30 motor oil
- Jack and jack stands
- 15-millimeter socket
- Oil drain pan
Performing the oil change:
- Park the Chevrolet Captiva on leveled ground. The engine should not be running when filling oil, so turn it off.
- Open the hood and remove the oil cap. Store it properly.
- Lift the front end of your vehicle. Then, place it on jack stands. If you are able to get under the vehicle without lifting it, great!
- Have a drain bolt ready in place underneath the vehicle.
- Locate and remove the oil drain bolt using a 15-millimeter socket.
- After 10 minutes, reinstall the oil drain bolt. At this point, the old oil would be all drained.
- Remove the old oil filter and install a new OEM oil filter.
- Lower your Chevrolet Captiva and remove the jack stands.
- Pour 4.5 – 7.5 quartz of 5W-30 motor oil into the engine and reinstall the oil cap once done.
